Celebrating 10 years

June, 2012: Bambu Technologies was registered and officially started as a small business in Los Angeles, CA. Our goal was to provide an alternative option for consumers.

In the last 10 years, BT was partnered with several organizations and institutions including the Elevation Athletic Training Foundation, Crossroads School, Calfee Design, Entropy Resin, Kawayan Collective, LoveBike Philippines, and Pinked Gorilla.

We have had the opportunity to represent at the North American Handmade Bicycle Show in Sacramento in 2016 nd 2019 and Manila FAME 2017.

We have hosted successful workshops in our main studio in LA and held workshops in other locations including Portland and Seattle. In the Philippines, we’ve taught at Zambawood Resort in Zambales, University of San Carlos in Cebu, the International School of Manila, the Robinson Galleria in Cebu in the care of Bryan Auman, and Kawayan Collective in Dumaguete.

Our outreach has benefited several groups and individuals through our internship and mentorship program. This includes the Bayawan Green Transportation project where we trained ten craftsmen in the art of bamboo bike frame building in 2014. We have provided ptraining and continued mentorship to BambuLito Glinogo, Cocoy and Jessica of Pinked Gorilla, and many others through our Elevation Athletic Foundation mentorship program. Similarly, our GoFundMe project provided over a hundred safety kits that included a helmet and safety training during the pandemic. This wouldn’t have been possible without the partnership of Mia Kalyetista, Thumbie Remegio, and Boy Siojo.

Most recently, BT has ventured into racing. We have formed a small racing team in the Philippines and have had some podium finishes. Most notably, a 3rd place finish in the Girls 19-23 category at the recent PHI Cycling Festival held in Pampanga.

Celebrating 10 years

Bambu Technologies will be hosting three Destination Workshops in the Philippines in honor of its 10 year anniversary. BT will be in Cebu from August 19 - 21, Dumaguete from October 28 - 31, and in Zambales from November 24 - 27.

Looking back, we are not really sure where this journey would take us but it has been an amazing 10 years.
